Puzzle workshop

Puzzles of the jig-saw type may support learning processes in various ways. In this workshop you may create your own puzzles (e.g. for use in the classroom if you are teacher). They may be saved and run at your computer or published on the web. Two types of self-made puzzles are provided.
All users are invited to send us the web addreses of their puzzles (Message to maths online). We would then include them in the puzzle links page.

  • Applet puzzle creation page

These puzzles are based on the programming language Java. They require versions 4.0 or higher of Netscape Navigator or Internet Explorer. Their disadvantage is is that almost no special mathematical symbols may be represented.

  • Test puzzle creation page

These puzzles are based on a new version of HTML. Their major advantage is that many special mathematical symbols may be represented. They require versions 4.0 or higher of Netscape Navigator or Internet Explorer.
The test puzzles come along with an evaluation system providing a measure for the number of moves made in order to solve it.

  • Puzzle links

This page collects links to puzzles that users of maths online have generated and published on their web pages.
